Merry Christmas

I am so excited. I bought myself a Wacom Bamboo fun Tablet and pen. It comes with software,Photoshop elements 6, Corel Painter Essentials and Nik Color Efex Pro 3. The Corel painter is awsome and it has video tutorials that explain everything very well. I haven't had much time to play with it yet. I will post some of my creations when I "get good" at it.
I wish everyone the happiest of Christmases and a great New year.

"The Spectator"

My friend , Sandie and I had a play date yesterday and this was my creation for the day. Its on canvas that I glued papers to then painted . Sandie was making some very neat abstract pieces. We had a very pleasant day. I prepared scalloped potatoes and ham ,fresh aspragus and home made applesauce for lunch then we went back to work.

China Sun

We had a wonderful AGO meeting yesterday with seven of us present. We meet every fourth Saturday to discuss and share our diverse artwork. I finished this piece during the meeting yesterday. It's 9x12 so a litle was cut off when I scanned it.I spread Goldens heavy gel matte on canvas and textured, let dry overnight then added charcoal and paint. I enjoyed doing this very much. I love Goldens products. the quality is execptional.

Digital ATC I made from collage

I love "playing" with my Photoshop Elements. Not very good at it but am learning by doing. I learn something new just about every time I use it. What fun! I too a photo of the collage I created then made this ATC using elements and layers and pasting. it's great fun to use an make brushes too. I love the fact that you can change the sizes so easily.

" Remember me always"

I created this on a 9x12 gallery wrap canvas. I took a photo of the woman from the tv from a movie I was watching then did a transfer to the canvas. I added molding paste, paint, collage and some french words that I translated on google translation . Hope it's right. I kinda like the way it turned out. I've been listening to Amy Winehouse while creating this. Such a talent and killing herself with drugs. It's so sad the many talented young people we lose to drugs.

The one with the two figures is called"Reunion". It has a lot of layers and texture and is 16x20.

Thursday

I was attempting to get the skin tones that Misty Mawn uses in her art. I like the way my colors turned out, its actually a cooler color in real life, but not too sure about my drawing abilities for the face. Its on 12x16 watercolor paper . I used acrylics, tissue paper, rubber stamping, Portfolio crayons, collage with matte medium.
